Futsal Goals
FUTSAL is the FIFA and UEFA recognised form of small-sided football. Futsal was the name chosen by FIFA, the World governing body of Football, for the only version of 5-a-side football that it supports. The term FUTSAL is the international term used for the game. It is derived from the Spanish and Portuguese words for “soccer”, FUTbol and FUTebol, and the French and Spanish words for “indoor”, SALon or SALa. The origin of Futsal can be traced back to Montevideo, Uruguay in 1930 when Juan Carlos Ceriani devised a Five-A Side version of soccer for youth competition in YMCAs. The game is played on basketball-sized courts, both indoors and out without the use of sidewalls.
